Midsummer Magic

There at the back of my garden,
lies a secret place I know,
â€&Mac247;tis there for everyone to see
though sometimes covered with snow.

See, through the soft and springy moss
flows a daring little stream,
of ice-cold water crystal clear
with fish that sparkle and gleam.

These fish they swim like little birds
high up in the bright green trees.
their emerald colours blind the eye
their songs are for the queen.

The queen she wears a fairy crown
and is dressed in silken robes,
she eats from golden platters fair
and drinks tea from chinaware.

And when upon a summer day
by this brook I take my ease,
I want my dear for nothing else
so easy am I to please.
